Melbourne Design Week has just kicked off for 2019, and there are a huge number of incredible events happening around town! It's definitely worth checking out the NGV's comprehensive list of talks, exhibitions, tours and workshops online, but if you're heading out on the town this weekend and you're looking for a fully immersive sensorial experience, we highly recommend you attend the Sensory Experiments event!
We dare you to take a look at this glorious description of what Sensory Experiments is all about and not rush out to nab some tickets to this spectacular live experience!
From the NGV website:
Reconnect with your primal being through a progression of sensorial confrontations. Recalibrate your connection to the world around you - the future depends on it.Sensory Experiments is a call for change - a Manifesto for Sensory Intelligence.
Part social experiment, part philosophical inquiry and a fully immersive performance piece, this innovative project is forged from a collaboration between two of the city’s (and, indeed, the world’s) most progressive and inquiring minds. An eclectic cohort of creative contributors has been assembled to design a provocative experience intended to awaken the senses.
Allow internationally renowned chef Justin James (Executive Chef of Vue de monde and Iki Jime and previously of Eleven Madison Park & Noma Copenhagen) to reignite your sense of taste. Avail yourself to floral artist Hattie Molloy’s interrogation of sensual perception with her reckoning of the Sublime. Absorb and participate in live-choreographed performances, and be aurally challenged by the masters behind the Sydney Opera House’s iconic acoustics.
It's all happening at the utterly beautiful Melbourne venue The Mission To Seafarers in Docklands on Saturday 16th March, and you can book tickets online now by heading here.
